BAM, ANIME!! The Weirdness Of Anime

I saw a meme a while back and it got me thinking about the nature of anime. I'll share the meme below after the cut but do we ever really think about just how strange anime really is. Not to say that western cartoons aren't strange, many of them are, but anime just has this other realm of strangeness that no one really points out...except for now...here we go!

What Is "Edgy"?

Let's talk about something. So after watching "Goblin Slayer" and after reading a few comments I decided to discuss the topic of "edginess". A lot of things are accused of being "edgy", the previous direction of The DCEU for one, but a lot of people (one being myself) have watched "Goblin Slayer" and said it was "edgy" and not as a compliment. So in this blog, I'm gonna explain why "Goblin Slayer" is NOT edgy and what IS edgy. Spoilers for "Goblin Slayer", let's dive in!

The One Punch Man/Dragon Ball Debate

Why am I doing this? Why? I know why because I've had a lack of things to write about as of late and this is an article that despite the eye-ball rolling subject matter of this article this happens to be a topic I have much to say about...unfortunately...So let's get into the subject matter. Ever since his introduction "One Punch Man" main character Saitama (the eponymous One Punch Man) has been the subject of many debates, namely whether or not he'd be able to beat "Dragon Ball's" Goku. Both sides have their arguments and both sides aren't backing down from their initial claims, while these topics would be better settled by Death Battle (despite many disagreeing with many of the outcomes of their fights, myself included....Majin Buu would own Kirby) I doubt Death Battle will do Goku vs Saitama anytime soon and I think those results will still be contested (hell, people think Goku would beat Superman..and no...sadly, no). I hotbed for this debate is an Instagram channel I follow @dbz_exlusive where this debate is carried on, so I decided since I have no dog in this fight and could really care less, I'm gonna settle this debate and figure out who would win between Goku & Saitama. Let's dive in.

Disappointment in Modern Anime

It surprised me that I've never written an article about this. Whenever I'm confronted with the question of "What animes are you watching?" and such I always have the same reply, "Me and anime broke up. She said somethings, I said somethings and we decided we were better off seeing other people. We got back together around Death Note, and that was great but we knew it was only temporary.". I say that a lot but I never elaborated on that and in this article I'm going to talk about my issues with anime as it stands now and what is exactly up with my old flame.
