The Following S03E14&15 "Dead or Alive" & "The Reckoning" Review

Here we are, kiddos, that's all she wrote! The series finale of "The Following"! Who knew this run would end so early? I had my suspicions, but I thought it'd at least survive for a 4th Season. But as I've said before, it's better for a series to get canceled while it's still good than for it to stick around long enough to become "Dexter". And given the serialized nature of "The Following" and the fact that each season is more or less a self-contained story, and Joe Carroll is no longer with us, it's not like "The Following" is ending with MAJOR plot points left unfinished. If the series had ended in Season Two, that'd be awesome. But here we are at Season Three and The Series Finale, time to take us home.

The Following S03E12 &13 "The Edge" & "A Simple Trade"

I should have know there was something up when "The Following" schedule showed some doubled up episodes. In case you haven't heard the news already, "The Following" has been officially canceled by FOX. At first I was surprised but after giving it some thought, I realized it was for the best. The show has 2 Seasons in the hole and a 3rd about to wrap up and while Season 2 got better later on, it was pretty much the show's last hurrah. Not to mention with Joe Carroll being executed (c'mon, that REALLY should have been the finale) it was unrealistic to think "The Following" would survive. But I'm here until the ship goes down and covering episodes 12 and 13. Let's dive in!

The Following S03E11 "Demons" Review

I never thought I'd see the day when Joe Carroll was executed but, it happened. Kudos to the writing team for having the guts to kill off such an important character and while his presence is still there in some capacity, he's not around physically to cause his own joyous and sarcastic brand of mayhem. Granted, having Joe around, the writers would have to think of more convoluted ways to keep Joe alive and they'd have been less and less believable as the series went on, so Joe's death was necessary. Now Theo's taking hold as the main villain but will The Bret Hart of serial killers last? Let's get to the action!

The Following S03E10 "Evermore" Review

Monday is a busy day for yours truly and here we are with the 2nd review of the day, "The Following". Last week, The Bret Hart of Serial Killers, Dr. Strassus' star pupil Theo reached out to Joe Carroll in order to obtain a code, for what? I assumed it was the rest of Dr. Strassus' students, but in actuality, it turned out to be something different. Anyways, because of Theo's house call, Joe was able to obtain a pair of sunglasses to fashion into a crude shank. Now we come to the fruition of that and boy do we have a lot to talk about.

The Following S03E09 "Kill The Messenger" Review

Review number 2 today (Gosh, Mondays are gonna be really busy for me, aren't they?). But I think I have a lot more good to say about "The Following" than I did about "Gotham". This episode saw a few things come into play that I'm actually pretty excited about, but we'll see as this curious season progresses. So let's get to it, shall we?

The Following S03E08 "Flesh & Blood" Review

Part two of the many reviews I'll be writing today. So "The Following", as of last week, we've gotten to know The Bret Hart of Serial Killers and Dr. Strassus' best student, Theo Noble (his last name being confirmed in this episode), and from what I've seen, aside from being extremely proficient with technology, he hasn't shown any finesse in his killing or covering his tracks. This episode doesn't exactly help Theo's case, but let's get to it when we get to it;

The Following S03E06 "Reunion" Review

WOW! Wow what an episode! Some stuff I saw coming, some stuff I didn't see coming and of course our man, Joe Carroll is back to his old tricks. I have to say with what happen during Season 2, it's good to finally see this season go in a MUCH better direction. I was curious how they were going to follow up after Joe Carroll's Blood Cult, but this is looking very Dexter Season 4-ish. But we'll get to all that and more! Let's dive in.

The Following S03E04 & 05 "Home" & "A Hostile Witness"

My apologizes for the tardiness of this review, I was playing "Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks" with Kimmy and couldn't really sit down to do this because well...playing video games with the wife or review a TV show isn't much of a contest. But this is likely going to be a long review requiring my full attention because today is a double dose of "The Following", I suppose to make up for the previously announced but then revoked 2 Hour premier it was supposed to have. Anyways, last episode Ryan & Company managed to kill Neil "The Boxman" Perry and my new favorite duo of Daisy & Kyle installed cameras in Max's apartment all the while Mark is none the wiser but his better half, Luke is catching on that there maybe something else afoot with these two. Let's dive in!

The Following S03E03 "Exposed" Review

Things are getting more and more interesting this season as everything is in a slow boil right now. Neil "The Boxman" Perry goes down for the count and we get a brief look into Daisy & Kyle's motives. More after the break!

The Following S03E02 "Boxed In" Review

Good news & bad news, Bad news is "Gotham" won't be returning until April. 19th. The good news is "Gotham" won't be returning until April 19th, so that means I won't have to double up on reviews for awhile. Also some more good news, Jada Pinkett Smith isn't returning as Fish Mooney, HURRAH! Anyways, with that outta the way, let's get to "The Following". Man oh man the stakes are getting higher and higher and the psychos, crazier and crazier. Next to Hannibal Lecter, I'll say this Neil guy takes the cake, but I'll get to all that and more after the break.

The Following S03E01 "New Blood" Review

I've said it since Season 1 finished and Season 2 concluded, I've done myself a massive injustice by not reviewing or sticking with the series in it's stop & go 2nd Season but this time I hope to remedy that by reviewing the 3rd Season. And while this season threatens to be Joe Carroll-less (and let's face it, he makes the series), it's still a show about serial killers and that keeps my attention. Thus far the previews looked promising and the panel at comic-con got me interested. So will this season prove to be better than the 1st and 2nd? Will this new chapter be more promising than the previous? Well let's find out as we welcome the "New Blood"!

The Following: Season Two Review

I've been saying I've done myself a serious disservice by NOT reviewing the first season of "The Following" and now I'm saying I've done myself a disservice by not continuing to review the second season; to make up for that, I decided to review the entire Second as a whole and explain where this show went off the rails and how it got it's self relatively back on track. So if you haven't seen the Second season of "The Following", you have been warned, SPOILERS ABOUND!

I'm Dropping "The Following" Reviews...

Ya know, I really did myself a disservice by NOT reviewing the First Season of this series, I'm convinced of it now. Why? Because I really don't like where this season is going, too much has changed, too many characters are dead and the focus feels shifted. I like The Twins, I hate Lily Gray and I hate Mandy. I'm officially dropping reviews of this series...so for now it'll just be "Pretty Little Liars" until "Hannibal" returns to save me from this. Hopefully "The Following" manages to turn it around...but I doubt it. *sigh* This makes me sad because I REALLY liked the first season. Then again...I should've known better when Scott Reynolds was added to the writers...Ugh!

The Following S02E03 "Trust Me" Review

Thus far this season is lacking the inspiration of the first season and it's getting to be quite glaring. A lot of predictable stuff happened in this episode that I thought I'd be happy about but after seeing the realization of it, I'm actually pretty disappointed.

The Following S02E02 "For Joe" Review

*sigh* Ya know, I'm really wishing I reviewed the first season instead of this season. This season is starting off to be rather...out of sync with the previous season. There are some good points and bad points with this season but I'm starting to feel like the bad is out weighing the good...then again it's still early.

The Following S02E01 "Resurrection" Review

So along with my "Pretty Little Liar" reviews I'm apparently not doing enough writing (despite the fact that I've been writing a screenplay since mid January and am currently working on revisions) and in that mind set I decided to include "The Following" on my blog. After all, I've made it clear that I absolutely LOVE serial killer stories and the first season of this show was top-notch in my opinion. Anyway, we're right back where we left off, Ryan and Claire were celebrating their victory when all of a sudden, Joe Carroll's undercover operative Molly pops up, attacks Ryan and stabs Claire in the spine.
