The Power Rangers Short Film & Why I HATE It...

So yesterday I was turned on to the video above, a "Power Rangers" short fan film starring James Van Der Beek and Katee Sackhoff as Rocky & Kimberly and directed by Joseph Kahn, a music video director who also directed the film "Detention" starring KOTD Founder Organik and Grindtime staple Dumbfounded. Before I completely tear this film asunder, let me say that the production quality of this is STELLAR! The costumes are amazing, the choreography is fantastic and the effects are awesome! Everyone involved in this project should feel very proud of themselves. That being said, this is an abomination, and I'll explain why after the break;

Pretty Little Liars S05E21 "Bloody Hell" Review

Howdy ya'll! Unfortunately, I missed the deadline for 2 of my "Gotham" reviews and I'm kicking myself in the butt for having done so, but things have cleared up and I should be back regularly doing the "Pretty Little Liar" reviews! So here we are, with my favorite English expression, "Bloody Hell."

STRANGE LOG: 2-25-2015

So I missed 2 "Gotham" reviews...yeah, it's been a pretty rough week and the fault of my current living situation. For those of you outside of the know, I moved to Washington to be with Kim, and while we're together we're not living together, I'd elaborate but that's letting you more into my business than I'd want you. Moving right along, because of the slip-shot nature of these articles I figured a "Strange Log" was in order to let everyone know what's going on and what's coming up, so let's get to it.

Pretty Little Liars S05E20 "Pretty Isn't The Point" Review

 photo Watchprettylittleliars520hdtvlolmp41251_zps3164345c.jpg
Howdy, kids! Yesterday was my birthday so I took the day off, yes the "Gotham" review will be coming but it'll be coming out a little later (and boy, do I have somethings to say about that episode). For now we have "Pretty Little Liars" to get to and now we're finally getting to some real meat and potatoes this season, and with only 5 episodes left, we finally know what's going on with Mike, that Alison isn't "A" (as if we didn't know that already) and something big is bouts to go down, but we'll get to all that and more after the break.

From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series Review

 photo fromdusktildawns01e01webripx264-2hdmp4-Download-FileDiva0203_zpsaae3ea9c.jpg
So I've treated to quite a treat a few months back. I remember awhile back while talking to a friend of mine about vampire movies, I said that "From Dusk Till Dawn" was one of my favorite vampire movies, and why wouldn't it be? What with Robert Rodriguez directing, Quentin Tarantino writing the script and acting in it, with all his unhinged craziness, George Clooney being a badass, a slamming soundtrack and Selma Hayek half-nude, is there any reason why this movie wouldn't be among my favorites, at least in the vampire genre? Well sometime ago I remember while looking up the sequels (that I didn't bother seeing), I came across the fact that Robert Rodriguez pulled an Oprah and was gonna get his own Network El Rey ("The King" in Spanish) and "From Dusk Till Dawn" was going to be adapted into a television series. I gave it a cursory glance, looked into the actors they got playing Seth & Richie, who was writing it and finally the cast, a few names stood out, Robert Patrick (T-1000, for all you Terminator fans),Wilmer Valderrama (Fez from "That 70s Show"), Don Johnson and one of my favorites, Jake Busey (son of noted actor and nutcase, Gary Busey). The cast looked stellar but I remained skeptical, how in the hell were they gonna expand that movie to last 13 episodes? I mean it's a pretty cut and dry story. I shelved the idea of watching as I was already stumped with "Dexter", "Breaking Bad", "House Of Cards" and a whole slew of other shows that I was watching at the time, but I kept "From Dusk Till Dawn" in the back of my mind until the time was right. After having watched it and giving it time to truly marinate, I have to say...WHOLE SH*T THIS SHOW IS F*CKIN' AWESOME! I'll explain all that and more (SPOILER FREE) after the break!

Pretty Little Liars S05E19 "Out, Damned Spot!" Review

 photo Watchprettylittleliars519hdtvlolwatchseriesonlinemp41033_zps92b94b51.jpg
And here we are once again with "Pretty Little Liars". This episode, not sure what to make of it...more red-herring-ing from the writers, *sigh*, is anyone buying this Mike is working for Alison crap? I sure as hell am not, even if he is working or Alison, I'm "sure" there's a "good reason" for it. Anyways, let's get to the review proper and see what's up.

Gotham S01E15 "Scarecrow" Review

 photo Watchgotham115hdtvlolmp40914_zps80d81b94.jpg
This episode oh boy this episode...the start of it wasn't promising at all, what with the opening detailing Fish Mooney's...capture...whatever. And unfortunately, Fish Mooney is a featured character in this episode. But all is not over and done with as we get a bit of business with The Penguin and the titular character The Scarecrow, all that to be reviewed after the break.

Movies I'm Looking Forward To In 2015

Kind of a gimmie year in 2015, I mean aside from the heavy-hitters, Marvel and Star Wars, there aren't that many movies that have caught my eye...for better or worse, but nonetheless here's the list of movies I'd like to see this year. Give it a look see.

Pretty Little Liars S05E18 "Oh, What Hard Luck Stories They All Hand Me" Review

So Det. Holbrook is back and of course The Liars are suspicious, but their attention is turned towards a new comer (...and with all the new comers this show has gotten at least one or all of them have to have some connection to Allison...damnit) Leslie, a "friend of Mona's" coming to aide Mona's mother with the Trial Of Alison DiLaurentis a.k.a Emily's Former Lord & Savior, Messiah Of B*tches, Saint Of The Shameless etc. etc. Anyways, last week we established that Lesbians are able to find each other, Mona may have possibly been given The Heisenberg Special, Hanna is a gangsta...and after being nearly frozen to death and physically and mentally harassed by an unseen villain, Ezra somehow gets it in his mind that Aria is missing out on school because of him...I'll allow that to sink in. Now that we're all up to speed, let's dive...

Gotham S01E14 "The Fearsome Dr. Crane" Review

So this episode started off with a bang and a hiccup. The opening featured probably one of the most elaborate murders on television carried out by the title's namesake "The Fearsome Dr. Crane". However, the hiccup came when the screen draining Fish Mooney placed a call to SalvaTORE (not Salvadore) Maroni (honestly...) and put him on to our man Oswald in regards to his working for Falcone. For those of us who bother to remember such things, a few episodes ago, after suffering from a massive jolt of electricity, Penguin let it slip that he had "important business with Falcone." when previously telling Maroni he had to tend to his sick mother. Of course, this could be explained away with Penguin having previously worked for Falcone and after suffering from being electrocuted you can't fault the man for being a little jumbled (although, that'd have been my excuse). But Oswald managed to explain it away. Anyways, with Gordon & Bullock having to watch their backs because they just sent Flass to prison, and Maroni now onto Penguin, we'll see just what happens, so let's get to the review.

The "Suicide Squad" Movie ?

So up until now I've been pretty lenient with the upcoming "Suicide Squad" movie DC/Warner Bros. has planned (and "strategically" placed before "Wonder Woman") but now I'm gonna start legitimately raising eyebrows and asking some serious questions. One of things I've applauded Marvel for is there ability to cast actors who look the part and more over are relatively unknowns. Robert Downey Jr. (and RDJ hadn't been a name in a LONG time before "Ironman") & Samuel L. Jackson are the biggest names of The Marvel Cinematic Universe, Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston weren't names but they're become names because of the characters they've played. Instead of relying on names, Marvel has managed to create their own names and successfully used character actors such as Benicio Del Toro and many others to their advantage. Meanwhile, DC/Warner Bros. is doing the exact opposite and in my opinion the wrong thing by relying on names to make their movies. This couldn't be more obvious than having Ben Affleck as Batman & Will Smith (of all people) as DC's most unlikable character (in my opinion) Deadshot (also has Will Smith EVER played a villain? Somebody get on that right now.)

The Best Of The Worst: Insidious

"Insidious" is one of those movies that since it's release has enjoyed a glowing reputation as being a return to horror. Many have hailed "Insidious" as being quite possibly one of the scariest movies they've ever seen. When I first sat down to watch "Insidious" with my wife, Kim, we weren't exactly certain what to make of it, we both gave it an "A" for effort but in terms of it being scary...like down right, "I am not gonna sleep after seeing this movie...", jumping at every weird noise I hear at night, scary...absolutely not. We both agreed that the movie was interesting but failed at being anything but a good idea gone horribly awry. However, after giving the movie some thought, I realized that "Insidious" is actually pretty freakin' horrible and in this article I'll explain my reasoning and let you be the judge. Assuming you haven't seen the film this will be SPOILER HEAVY, so if you haven't seen the film and would like to remain unspoiled, go watch it, come back and check it, or if you just don't give a crap then hey, welcome and enjoy.
