Going into this I didn't know what to expect exactly, this go around there was no pretty face to get me hooked into what I was about to watch like...well...pretty much every other anime I've started, no this time It was purely the premise alone which made me go "Huh?" and not in a bad way. But that's what a good show or book is supposed to do, right? Hook you in with a good premise. The characters are all young, plucky kids who are very much in need of guidance and Koro-Sensei (the previously mentioned Octopus monster) is more than apt at guiding them. Koro-Sensei is really the big mystery of the series as his origins and motives are only hinted at through out the series with a few declarations he makes about himself we get the feeling there is much more to him than meets the eye.
Right out of the gate the 3 pressing questions are why is Koro-Sensei going to destroy the Earth, why does he want to teach (of all things) a failing middle school class and why does Koro-Sensei want the students to kill him? Those are the questions that drives the series forward but the highlights are his interactions with the students and getting them to learn new things and believe in themselves and their ability to accomplish anything they set their minds to. Koro-Sensei presents himself as nearly unkillable, normal bullets won't stop him but there are anti-him rubber-like substance that exist which the students are using as ammunition for their guns and knives, but Koro-Sensei (which is I'm guessing a way to say "unkillable teacher" in Japanese) can move at mach20 speed, has very fast and strong tentacles and not to mention a whole slew of other tricks up his sleeve that makes killing him nearly impossible.
All that aside despite Koro-Sensei's ominous threat of destroying Earth in 1 year, Koro-Sensei is not malevolent or cruel, in fact quite the opposite, Koro-Sensei is kind-hearted, generous and selfless to a fault, which leads to there being more to him than meets the eye. Despite being a pervert, Koro-Sensei has shown himself to be nothing less than a gentle soul who wants nothing more than to help E-Class reach their potential. He accomplishes this by nurturing each student to be the best version of themselves and none takes that more to heart than series protagonist Nagisa. Nagisa, like most Shonen protagonists is wide-eyed and eager. Nagisa represents the kids of E-Class, they're not dumb, they're just lagging behind the other students at their middle school. Nagisa, like Izuku Mydoria is a note-taker and a quick study, he's very personable and unassuming which makes him instantly likable. This isn't to say the other characters aren't worth anything, it'd take a whole series of articles to breakdown each character.

"Assassination Classroom" has to be one of the strangest premises for a series I've ever seen and yet as the series goes on, it works and I was surprised by just how much emotion and tragedy this series had in it for such a seemingly goofy albiet scary premise. The revelations are shocking, the twists are surprising and the ending leaves an emotional gut-punch and you won't soon forget. There are somethings that don't quite add up and somethings that don't make much sense, but not everything is perfect and this series didn't have to be or explain itself to the inth degree. It told a GREAT story and that's all it needed to do. I'm glad this series didn't ware out it's welcome by going longer than it needed to, it told it's story and ended. A good story needs to know when to wrap it up and this did that in spades. I would highly reccomend "Assassination Classroom". 10/10! Let me know what you guys think and I'll catch you guys later.
