The "Infinity War" Trailer

Well, Christmas has come early for nerds and geeks everywhere as the MOST anticipated trailer has dropped, yes, "Hanna Montana II" has arrived! No, I'm obviously talking about the semi-conclusion to The Marvel Cinematic Universe "Avengers: Infinity War". The build up to the entire MCU has been reached and we'll be checking it out as soon as next year. Suffice it to say this is the culmination of a 9 Year project starting all the way back in 2008 with "Iron Man". So let's get to the trailer and see what's what.

STRANGE LOG: Honeydew Funk

My goodness, gang, would you look at that? Yet ANOTHER Strange Log coming at you after a brief bit of radio silence. So what's been going on here and there in The Strangeverse and what do I have to report? Well, let's dive in and see what's what and what's coming down the pike.

Horror & Capability

For the longest time, I've been thinking quite a bit about horror movies and horror as a genre entirely. I've made videos about my ideas of what horror movies really are, they're not about what they're about there more about the idea of what they're about. As an example, "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" isn't about some chainsaw wielding nutcase ready to hack you and your friends up, it's actually about being on the outside of an inside joke, the fear of not knowing. Everyone in "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" was aware they were leading those guys to their doom EXCEPT for the main characters. That's what I mean; "Halloween" wasn't about a killer, it's about an unstoppable, unreasonable force. But I've recently found myself returning to more Lovecraftian notions of horror and really re-thinking what makes horror horror and what exactly makes it scary and I've discovered it comes down to one factor, what is that factor? Find out after the break!

Anime RE-Claimed: My Hero Academia

Superheroes have kind of exploded on the scene as of late? What with Marvel's Cinematic Universe and DC death crawling it's way to catch up, not to mention TV shows featuring characters with super powers are all the rage, FOX has "The Gifted" and Hulu is coming out with "The Runaways", and with the canceled Sony Network (of all things) a show quite literally named "Powers", superheroes are a dime a dozen. Anime hasn't really been big into the whole superhero genre. Don't get me wrong there are certainly TONS of characters who have super powers and what not but a secret identity and the whole 9 yards? Naw, not even "One Punch Man" falls into the convention of standard Super Hero Genre tropes. Which brings me to "My Hero Academia". So what's up with this series, let's dive in and we'll see!

STRANGE LOG: The 2 Girls From Illinois

HEY! Here we are once again with yet ANOTHER Strange Log, not a whole lot entertainment wise but some news worthy stuff that doesn't require an entire article. Anyways, let's get to it!

Anime RE-Claimed: Dragonball Super

Ya know, if years ago you'd have told me there was going to be another "Dragonball" series I'd have rolled my eyes and said "What?! Really?!" but in this day and age of things coming back ("24", "Prison Break", "Heroes: Reborn", "Fuller House" and I'm pretty sure I'm missing something) "Dragonball" was the LAST thing I'd expect to make a come back. But Akira Toriyama wasn't done and in 2016 came out with "Battle Of The Gods" and introduced us to Beerus and Whis, 2 divine powers that pushed Goku to a new level Super Saiyajin God. After the movie was a success, it was announced that Dragonball would get a NEW series a legit sequel (unlike "Dragonball GT") named "Dragonball Super" and now here we are and here's what I think!

Art Woes

Can I get personal, guys? I guess I can, it's my blog, right? Right. And that means I can talk about whatever I want. Guys, I gotta confession to make, you ready? I'm obsessed with women. Sounds creepy? Of course it does, I'm obsessed with women because I CAN'T DRAW WOMEN! I've said this before in another blog but I haven't been able to draw women for a LONG TIME. I've only been drawing women since the early 2000s but now I'm feeling discouraged, why? Let's get to it.

STRANGE LOG: Are We There Yet?

VICTORY IS MINE!! So I got thew new job, no longer at my old job and it is glorious!! I'm now working at a gaming store which specializes in Xbox Ones, board games, Magic The Gathering etc. etc. Needless to say this change has me in better spirits, but with a new job comes a new schedule that my wife and son are currently getting adjusted to and I'll admit, it's a struggle. At the moment I'm starting the slow death slog to pay day (the 20th) because food is getting low. That being said, let's get to what's going on thus far and things I wanna comment on. Let's dive in.

My Thoughts On The REAL "The Last Jedi" Trailer

These trailers keep coming out later and later, nice way to start speculation but MAN, I already shared my thoughts on the 1st "Last Jedi" Trailer but I guess I should've waited now that we have more images in this one. So let's get to the play by play and see what we see.

Project Canceled: Mortal Kombat: Conquest

Holy crap! This is one of those SUPER 90s shows from back in the day! During the rise of "Hercules: The Legendary Journey", "Xena: Warrior Princess", "Mortal Kombat: Conquest" was the epitome of the 90s! From here on out I'll call it "Conquest" for short. "Conquest" came out in in the fall of 1998 after "Mortal Kombat 4", before "Mortal Kombat: Gold" and (more importantly) AFTER "Mortal Kombat: Annihilation". "Mortal Kombat: Annihilation" being completely generous was a box-office bomb, Ed Boon going so far as to say the film was "the worst moment in the franchise's history.". To be completely honest, I enjoy "Mortal Kombat: Annihilation" as an unintentional comedy but I digress. With 2 films under it's belt, a TV show was more than the obvious next step and thus "Mortal Kombat: Conquest" was born.

Prior to "Conquest", "Mortal Kombat" enjoyed a brief foray in the animated realm with the series "Mortal Kombat: Defenders Of The Realms". While I never watched the show completely, I do remember catching an episode here and there, and one of the most notable things about this series (at least to me) is that this show features the first and (only time) where Rain is seen without his mask. "Defenders Of The Realms" lasted for 13 episodes before being canceled. "Defenders Of The Realms" wasn't well received considering the show was animated for children and while having a large child fan base (after all I was 8 when I played "Mortal Kombat"), "Mortal Kombat" is NOT meant for children. The brutal nature of the game could never be reflected in a Saturday morning cartoon style.

"Conquest" was live action and instead of being about Liu Kang and the story we're familiar with, "Conquest" would tell the story of The Great Kung Lao, Kung Lao's ancestor and his journey to become the 1st Earth Realmer to win Mortal Kombat. "Conquest" aired on TNT and was featured after WCW Monday Nitro. "Conquest" oddly enough did enjoy popularity despite in latter years being called a "wire-fu disaster". TNT ultimately made the decision to pull the plug on "Conquest" and from research it looks like it was primarily for budget reasons rather than the over all quality of the show. There are very few things I can speak on authoritatively, "Dragonball Z", Writing, Quentin Tarantino and a few others but "Mortal Kombat" is definitely on that list. I've seen a few episodes here and there but never watched it entirely.

One of my main reasons for avoiding this series is the fear of the brain aneurysm I'd have with the glaring continuity errors of the series fall out of sync with the actual "Mortal Kombat" timeline. As an example, there is an episode titled "Noob Saibot", however we know Noob Saibot wasn't created until the current Mortal Kombat timeline as he was the 1st Sub-Zero, Bi-Han. Bi-Han fought in the tournament during Liu Kang's time and was turned into Noob Saibot after his defeat. The series takes place a good 500 years BEFORE Liu Kang, which would either mean that Bi-Han was never Sub-Zero and always Noob Saibot or that Bi-Han managed to die as Noob Saibot, come back as Sub Zero and then die and become Noob Saibot again. Both are dumb.

Likewise characters like Scorpion are mentioned and while on the surface it may seem like that's no big deal considering Scorpion's a specter, what you're missing is the fact that Bi-Han was a grown man prior to killing Scorpion, which would mean Bi-Han would have to be upwards of about 600 years old for Scorpion to have been killed 500 years prior to Liu Kang. In Mortal Kombat Scorpion's been dead for roughly 2 years before the tournament. So while his being in the series is nice fan service, in actual continuity this makes absolutely NO sense by anyone's imagination. But you see the level of care I have for "Mortal Kombat" so no need to press that further.

"Conquest" lasted for 1 Season of 22 episodes (a full order) and enjoyed more success in The U.K. & Australia, which is odd considering Australia bans "Mortal Kombat"...and "Power Rangers" for that matter. So for Project Canceled we're gonna dive into the entire series of "Mortal Kombat: Conquest" and see what's what.

Let's Talk Star Wars, Rey, Mary Sues & Gary Stus

Let's talk "Star Wars", and I wanted shy away from discussing the topic but seeing as how the entertainment news cycle (at least the entertainment news that I give a crap about it) is slow, let's talk about this. What is the "this" I'm referring to? This discussion of Rey as a Mary Sue. I don't have a stake in this discussion as I'm of the opinion that WE STILL HAVE 2 MOVIES to get through so let's chill on the "Mary Sue" talk for now. But nonetheless, enough people have re-stated this opinion over and over and I really wanted to sit down and discuss my thoughts on the topic at hand. So let's dive in.

STRANGE LOG: Time To Stop Dating These Vol.1

LIKE A PHOENIX I RISE!! So long story short, Photobucket decided to be a HUGE douche and restrict me from sharing images to 3rd Parties (ie, blogs and the like). While initially distraught because the vast majority of my reviews (and comments) have been thrown to wayside, I decided to simply take the L just because getting all my work back was going to be an uphill battle. WELL, UPHILL NO MORE! Because my "Pretty Little Liars", "Gotham" & "The Following" reviews are all back up with pictures and everything! "Hannibal" will be following shortly! This is a good day. Now here's what's coming down the pike. Not a whole lot to get to but still some stuff to discuss. Let's get to it.

Okay, Let's Talk About "Justice League"

So here we are you guys, a month and a half away (Nov. 17th) from an actual Justice League movie combining the forces of Batman, Aquaman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Superman and...Cyborg? Umm...okay? It should be no mystery to anyone who's read this blog that my opinion of The DC Extended Universe (as it's being called) isn't particularly high. And that's not me being a mark for Marvel, when it comes to comic books I'm a DC fan through and through (despite the fact that aside from the unfortunate "Court Of Owls" story arc, I haven't read a comic book in a LONG time). That being said, I realized I haven't exactly shared my thoughts on "Justice League" and now that we have enough trailers out we can piece together what's going on. Let's dive in.

An Origin Story & Why I Review

Every now and then I have these moments where I become really self-aware, like REALLY self-aware to the extent that I marvel at the fact that I exist and am really aware of my existence. As deep and philosophical as recognizing one's own existence can be, this is not the purpose of this article. But self-awareness is and every now and then I ask myself, "Why the hell do I review?". For starters, I'm not getting any money for this so unlike the unfortunates on Youtube who have to deal with the adpocalypse, my livelihood is not dependent on it, nor have I ever seen a dime from it so it's not like I'm gaining anything from doing so, nor do I have multitudes of fan clamoring for my opinion on various topics, hell, I can barely boast at having a moderate readership. So by all accounts I should basically quit. Review is a time consuming and costly hobby that I am reaping literally no rewards from, so why do it? Here's why.

Ugh! And we're back for more updates...I guess...maybe? Summer schedule is over (Praise God & The Man Jesus!) and we're moving into School schedule...assuming I don't get another job...(Hoping I get another job! REALLY HOPING!)  As it stands I'm just giving you guys updates into what's going on with me, here we go.

The Defenders Season One Review

Marvel's Defenders, finally the stars of the small screen team up in an Avengersesque style to take on the forces of evil. While this won't be a thorough review of the series, I will be discussing what I think about the series and where I think the series is going and what I hope happens. So let's dive into the good, the bad and the ugly and see where we go.

The Strange Review SPECIAL: Death Note

I've never expressed just how near (pun intended) and dear "Death Note" is to me. "Death Note" essentially showed me what anime could be if it wasn't trapped in it's need to be anime, if that makes any sense. "Death Note" at it's core is a detective story, pure and simple, the fantastical element of a notebook that kills anyone should their name be written in it is just icing on the cake. Light & L are characters that transcend themselves as they're archetypes of the perfect rivals, equally smart, equally driven and equally enthralled with each other and under different circumstances could have been friends. "Hannibal" was live action's answer to "Death Note", "Hannibal" being a show that showed me (a writer) that I had yet to realize what good writing was and it was going to show me.

My wife got me into watching "Death Note", she didn't know that as I watched it secretly behind her back and I surprised her by asking her if she knew Shinigami's liked apples. I adore "Death Note". And now here we are in a place we probably didn't know was coming but has nevertheless arrived. America has made their own live action version of "Death Note", the day is April. 7th (the day I began writing this opening paragraph) and a teaser trailer has dropped for "Death Note" to pretty much scathing reviews with profanity such as "Dragonball Evolution" being thrown about. I'll admit the teaser raised more eyebrows and questions for me as I've yet to get a solid handle on just how this will go but I am nonetheless thrilled to finally see it. Maybe thrilled is too strong of a word, more like anxious. Now that we have some images we can start to put this thing together and see what's what.

"Death Note" is NOT an easy property to adapt, let alone adapt to an American audience, let alone adapt for movie length running time. My wife has already expressed annoyance at the project and I don't blame here, L is one of her favorite characters and seeing as how he's not ANYTHING AT ALL like he is in the series is already eyebrow raising and for myself, annoying (as it raised issues of what I call "Blackmasking" and the fact that people are allowed to complain about Light being played by a White guy but you can't say anything about L being Black because racism..., right). But as it stands now, I'm remaining optimistic and eager to see how this story will go and if it'll hit all the story beats it needs to. Will this be it's own unique story or will they attempt to cram the full breadth of "Death Note" in a bite sized piece for us? Well, I guess we'll find out, so join me and my bag of potato chips and while I watch this movie, I'll take a potato chip and eat it...

STRANGE LOG: 8-24-2017

Here we are guys, once again I'm dropping another Strange Log, and it's all "Death Note" tonight, on the eve of one of the most anticipated (at least for me) movies coming this year. Anyways, I figured now would be a time to give you guys an update on what's going on in The Strangeverse.

DC Rebirth & The Doomsday Clock

It seems these day I very rarely talk about comic books and when I do talk about comic books I very rarely have anything nice to say. That being said, while I'm not gonna start saying anything nice now, I am going to talk about them and say what's going on thus far and offer some thoughts.

Anime RE-Claimed: Prison School

As my Anime RE-Claimed series continued I tried to figure out what would be the next anime I'd sink my teeth into. I enjoyed "High School Of The Dead", LOVED "One Punch Man", the less said about "The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya" the better, but unfortunately I don't go searching for anime. That is to say, I don't go out of my way to try and find anime. Usually what gets my eye is a really good cosplay, maybe a panel or two posted somewhere and a character who looks interesting and then I'm interested. "Prison School" got me for a number of reasons: for starters, I'm currently working on a screenplay with a similar premise but completely different genre and I saw some really good cosplays for it. And considering where I work (which pretty much is a prison) I figured this could be interesting, everything you need to know is in the title "Prison School". So here's what's up with "Prison School".

Project Canceled: The Event

"The Event"...*sigh*...okay so maybe I've been completely unfair to "The Event" back in the day but man am I NOT looking forward to this. Why? Okay, to be fair "The Event" did start off as an interesting show but ultimately devolved into absurdity and poor construction of plot. This is just going off of what I remember. "The Event" came out in 2010 during TV's "Post "L O S T" Complex Plot" Era where it seemed like every network was trying to capture the lightning in a bottle that ABC had with "L O S T" (this was even played up in the marketing campaign for it saying that if "L O S T" and "24" had a baby it'd be "The Event"). Sadly, "The Event" had two things working against it, for starters it was on NBC and second, Blair Underwood was in the main cast. Despite being religious (I am a Christian) I am far from superstitious and don't believe in ghosts or good luck charms but when it comes to curses, I'm more than a little hesitant to say they don't exist and Blair Underwood is the reason why.

Seemingly every TV show Blair Underwood finds himself in the main cast, it gets canceled shortly after. This list is staggeringly long to be considered a coincidence and he's on a list of individuals labeled "TV cancer". While I'm only half-joking, his track record saw very little success in TV, no clue why that is as Blair is a good actor. "The Event" came on the scene with a marketing campaign centered around a series of "events" that would take place in the show "an assassination plot", "a mysterious disappearance" and "a CIA Cover up" while "events" they are not "THE EVENT" in which the series takes it's name from. This was to build intrigue about the exact nature of the series.

To summarize;

"The Event" is about a series of aliens who crashed on Earth and are currently detailed in an Alaskan prison. While some were detained others integrated themselves into human life. Now those aliens are preparing to takeover the world when news reaches them that their sun is going nova. One man is able to stop them."

That's "The Event" at it's core but the telling of the story involves a President seeking to release to the detained aliens and let the world know about their presence and Jason Ritter's character attempting to find his girlfriend after she's been kidnapped. These events relate to each other and it's the overall conspiracy that drives the show. When it first aired, I was impressed but after witnessing the series as a whole, I definitely flipped due to some inconsistencies I noticed that were just too glaring to ignore. Maybe it was harder to follow because of the nature of the show and having to watch it on a week to week basis that made it seem like the failure it was but I seriously doubt that. However, this is one of those moments where I feel like I was too hard on it and maybe it's worth a gander. Going into this, I'm going to try and find the exact moment when I stopped caring and see if I can figure out an answer to a question I've had since the series aired, I won't tell you what that question is now but I'll address it later on. Needless to say the answer to that question does make up the majority of why this series failed, at least to me. So for "Project Canceled" we're gonna learn about "The Event" and find out where exactly this series failed if at all.

STRANGE LOG: 7-31-2017

Not a whole lot to say but I do have some projects coming down the pike and I want you all to get ready for those things and just to give you guys a general update on my life, let's get to it.

STRANGE LOG: 7-8-2017

So here we go, The Strangeverse has been reborn. For those of you who don't know I recently lost several articles on my blog due to Photobucket wanting to charge users for 3rd party hosting (a.k.a embedding). So because of that I've lost several articles and switched over my all my image hosting duties directly to Google & Imgur (as I doubt imgur will go the way of Photobucket anytime soon). So in this Strange Log I'll be updating you all on what's coming back, what's not coming back and what's coming soon, all available after the break.

The Strange Review: A Cure For Wellness

This is one of those movies that I was looking forward to when I saw the previews. Wellness Spas doubling as a mental asylum? Hidden secrets? Ulterior motives?!  Dane DeHaan?! Sign me up! This appeared to be one of those "plot twist" movies...much like "Shutter Island" where you think one thing is going on only to discover another thing is going on. However, "Shutter Island" was great, "A Cure For Wellness" though...was not. For a non-spoiler review, I can say that the movie is shot well, well acted, looks amazing and that's about all there is though. While I give the film credit for being original, sadly, it's originality didn't do much to make it better.

"A Cure For Wellness" tells the story of Lockhart, an up and coming accounting firm guy who is blackmailed by his bosses to go to Switzerland to retrieve another member of the firm to take the fall for their mistake. While at this spa, Lockhart gets diagnosed with the same strange illness that plagues everyone at the wellness center. That's the basic story but there s a lot more to it than just that. Guys, I was incredibly disappointed by this movie and it's overall skippable in my opinion. If you want to know why and don't care about spoilers click after the break!

"Death Note" Trailer Review

And now, now we have some more images and a good idea of what the story will look like. No, you're not dreaming and having a very surreal nightmare, yes, there is an upcoming American adaptation of "Death Note" coming to Netflix and now we have a legit trailer. I gave you all my thoughts on the teaser and you can check those out here, but here we review the trailer and see what we can gleam.

The Strange Review: Power Rangers

This was one of those movies that once announced was immediately polarizing. Ever since the fan-made "Power/Rangers" that was polarizing and showed a gritty, rated R version of the Power Rangers, a "Power Rangers" movie has been on the books for awhile. Initial buzz was minimal just speculating on whether or not this would be it's own original story or a reboot. Over time it was announced that it would be a full on reboot with Jason, Billy, Trini, Kimberly & Zack once again becoming the Power Rangers. Casting was announced with long time Power Rangers alumni Bryan Cranston (who voiced many Power Ranger villains) taking on the role of Zordon, Bill Hader as Alpha 5 and costume/make up queen Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa. With a good cast and a decent trailer, how was this new fully American take on the Power Rangers?

This movie was much better than it had any business being. I'm a huge "Power Rangers" mark so my initial reaction to the trailer and images were tentatively positive. As I said before this could either be really good or really bad and shockingly enough it was quite good, once again better than it had any business being. But I shouldn't have been surprised, Dean Israelite has handled stuff like this before in "Project Almanac" so having him at the helm gave me some confidence and it was well earned. So for a none spoiler review of this film, I give it a B, the characters were likable, and while everything moved pretty quickly, it wasn't so fast that it gave you whiplash. The acting was good, even scenery chewing Elizabeth Banks was perfect as Rita (and honestly with a name like Rita Repulsa it's almost expected). I had a good time with this movie albiet a few problems. That's a non-spoiler review, for a spoiler review go ahead and click after the break!

Strangeverse Reborn

And so here we are...once again I'm facing the death & rebirth of The Strangeverse. The first time this happened I lost all my video reviews, this time around it's a much more serious blow to the continuity of The Strangeverse. Photobucket, my previous image hosting site has decided to charge their users for hosting images on a 3rd party (that means embedding images as I frequently do here). Up until 2016 I was using Photobucket exclusively for hosting all my images. Now one would ask (as My wife had) why didn't I just directly upload all my images? My answer to that is because sadly hindsight is 20/20 (never understood that saying until now) and I'm a moron.

Self deprecation aside (but not concluded) because of my (EXTREMELY) poor decision to use Photobucket and because they are now asking that I pay $399.99 to continue to allow my images to continue to be visible I decided that effective immediately, ALL of my articles from 2015 and before will cease to be on this blog. Thankfully, I did not delete them, I merely restored them to Draft mode whilst I contemplated how exactly to move forward. But move forward I must. Lately, I don't have much I genuinely enjoy doing, I used to make Youtube videos until Youtube made it so I was just another schmoe in front of a camera. I used to do video reviews until Blip.tv decided to choose favorites and now sadly, I'm losing 5 years worth of articles & reviews...Poof! Gone because of one very bad decision.

Now one might be asking, why not just post the articles minus the text? Simple but that's still a TONE of work that in between my (figuratively) Hell job, the hours I'm home and functional and the small amount of time I can spend with my son, I'm none too keen on going through 5 years worth of articles and editing them. That and the pictures I post in the articles are VERY much so tied into the text its self and separating them would cause some articles to lose their context or their pictorial punchlines. This new change hurts me greatly because like I said it's 5 YEARS worth of reviews, articles, commentaries, insights, updates, plans and so much more. My "Pretty Little Liars" reviews, still the funniest things I've ever read are now gone, my "Hannibal" reviews (although incomplete) are gone, all my articles and insights on various movies and TV shows, GONE! I'm hurting, I'm not going to lie but I'm trying to look at this as a rebirth, not a death.  So join me if you will in welcoming The Strangeverse Reborn 2017!

And thus...

And so if you're new to this blog...although not sure why you'd be new considering no one's really reading this so I guess it really doesn't matter in the first place. Photobucket has decided to become extreme douche bags a la' Myspace, however unlike Myspace, Photobucket is now charging individuals for hosting videos. One would assume that Photobucket would gain revenue from the MANY, MANY, MANY (exhaustingly) MANY ads on their website that slow their loading time, but it looks like they spent all that money on their bullshit interface and their slow as molasses uploading speed. Because of terrible decisions made by the morons who run Photobucket, nearly 200 something articles of mine are now without images to go along with them, and in order to make my Blog entertaining, I have to go in and red dress every single screencap...Oh goody, I can't think of a better way to spend the weekend...needless I'm beyond pissed off.

I don't ask for much, I had a plan to write 2 articles this weekend, one was a review for "A Cure For Wellness" and the other was about Predictability in movies. It's bad enough I work a job I loathe to the very core of my soul and I'm so exhausted I can barely spend time with my son because I gotta come home, eat and then go to bed but now I'm dangerously close to getting another favorite pass time taken from me. I stopped making Youtube videos because Youtube made it pretty much impossible for me to distinguish myself from other reviewers out there so I decided to blog, previously I was almost screwed over for my "Hannibal" reviews which inspired me to write my "Copyright Hell" article but NOW, Photobucket has all but gutted my blog for nearly EVERYTHING. I'm currently hosting my images on Imgur.com and that seems to be working out fine but I can't help but think the same thing will happen there. The image I have up now is hosted by Google, which I should just probably direct upload everything from now on but with the way all that Copyright bullshit has been going lately I wouldn't be shocked if they screwed me over eventually as well.

I'm losing confidence in a lot of crap these days and blogging was a nice and fun way to be my opinions on various topics out in the public sphere, if that gets taken away from me I'll just be another schmuck watching TV talking to his loved ones about TV shows they haven't seen nor heard of and I'm not that pathetic, not yet. All in all I'm incredibly angry right now and I have to go to work later this morning and the anger will only increase, not a good way to start the morning. Pray for me. I'll see you guys later. Until then, refrain from reading any of my old posts until I get everything cleaned but. Catch you guys later!

STRANGE LOG: 6-22-2017

It's that time once again for another STRANGE LOG! Yeah, it's been a minute (not really) but my world is constantly and rapidly changing now that I'm dealing a 1 month old son and a job that's sucking my soul out and eating away at my sanity like every season of "American Horror Story" I've ever watched (still accepting donations for lost brain cells, any and all donations are welcomed). There is a lot going on and a lot I want to talk about and get off my chest, so let's dive in.

My Thoughts On The "Black Panther" Trailer

For starters let's get one important thing out of the way, this is NOT a teaser trailer, this is a full on trailer! A teaser is like 30 to 45 seconds long, this is a full on minute and some change. And in that minute and some change we get a good look at a few things that I wanna address so let's talk about it and see what we see.

Anime RE-Claimed: The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya

Man...I'm disappointed. For starters, I kinda have a thing for Haruhi Suzumiya, she's graced by banner for awhile and she's just easy on the eyes but MAN is she an annoying character. In reality, the only selling point of this series is Kyon and even then it's not enough. Let's dive into "The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya".

It's Time We Talked About The "L O S T" Finale

So here we are, 7 years after the ending of one of television's biggest events that TV stations have been trying to replicate since, I'm talking about "L O S T". Love it for hate it, you can't deny that at the time "L O S T" was red hot in the ratings and red hot at water-coolers to the point where those who weren't watching "L O S T" were looked upon as living under a rock. In this article, I'm going to discuss the "L O S T" finale. Here's the thing, I loved the "L O S T" finale and I'll explain exactly what I liked about it but before I do that, I am not writing this to make people like the finale. I could careless if you like the finale or not, however, my main point of writing this article is because I've found that many people who didn't like the "L O S T" finale, didn't understand the finale to begin with. Not because they're stupid and I'm OH SO SMART, not at all but because of other reasons. So with all that being said, let's dive back into "L O S T" and get found...(shut up...)

Anime RE-Claimed: One Punch Man

So this is one of those animes that I've heard about here and there. While it looked interesting I was SUPER concerned that it's extremely simple premise was going to be convoluted in "animeness". If you haven't read my previous post, this is the definition of "Animeness" What is "animeness"? Animeness as I define it, is taking a simple and interesting concept and needlessly convoluting it to the point where the concept isn't interesting anymore. So what is "One Punch Man" about? "One Punch Man" follows the story of Saitama, a chrome domed guy who's a superhero as a hobby. Saitama has the ability to defeat enemies in (eponymously) one punch and it's awesome.

Anime RE-Claimed: High School Of The Dead

So as written hither-to in my previous post about my disappointment in modern anime I said I'd eventually check out some animes I've had my eyes on and it looks like that day has come. Yesterday I checked out "Highschool Of The Dead". "High School Of The Dead" is one of those anime series that constantly referenced for copious amount of fan service;

Case in point

Anyway, on my quest to inspect anime I've diced to give this series a shot and while I've only seen the first episode, I'm gonna drop a review and my thoughts. So here we go!

Do Comic Books Have A Diversity Problem?

No. That's the short answer. No. No and Nope. And in case you didn't read it the first time, NO! Sadly, there are some individuals who won't accept "No." as answer and will demand a more lengthy discussion of the topic. Okay, fine twist my arm, as if I haven't addressed the topic, time and time and time again, no. Because someone decided there is a contingency of people who really believe that comic books are dominated by extremely racist, sexist, misogynist bigots, I believe I have to address this using my African American immunity. Let's dive in.

Album Review: "One More Light" by. Linkin Park

Welcome back Linkin Park! After "The Hunting Party" which in my opinion was open ass on a copy machine bad (save for a few tracks), Linkin Park is BACK with a capital "B" with "One More Light" and man is this album good! Let's dive in!

STRANGE LOG: 5-18-2017

Howdy! So while the news week has been incredibly slow visa-vi film, TV, comic books and video games, I felt nonetheless that a Strange Log was in order just to sort out the various riff-raff that isn't worth an entire article.

Interview With: GoodbadFlicks

So this is something I'm trying to do more of in the future and this is the beginning. I'm a Youtuber and I enjoy many other Youtubers but one of my favorite Youtubers is a guy who runs the channel Goodbadflicks. If you haven't checked out his channel, IT'S INCREDIBLE. Cecil Trachenburg is a film reviewer who is INSANELY level headed and makes his points calmly and factually. I sent a feeler out to see if he'd be down for an interview and he was down to do it! If you haven't checked out his channel, DO SO! He's a great reviewer with a calm voice that I'm ashamed I couldn't do an audio version of this interview. So here's the interview, hope you enjoy!

My Thoughts On "The Defenders" Trailer

I haven't discussed Marvel's Netflix series on my Blog much, not because I haven't seen them, that's a bold face lie, I watched the hell outta Seasons 1 & 2 of "Daredevil", loved me some "Jessica Jones", had fun with "Luke Cage" and I'm still unsure what to make of "Iron Fist". That being said, Marvel has been owning film and while DC is killing it in the TV realm (more or less) Marvel's Netflix series raised the bar and now they're diving into the obvious and eventual team up series "The Defenders" and finally we have a trailer for it. Let's dive in!

My Thoughts On "The Dark Tower" Trailer

Not only did we get a trailer for "House Of Cards" Season 5, but now we got 2 trailers! We got a trailer for "The Dark Tower" & the upcoming Netflix series "The Defenders", combining the characters of Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones & Iron Fist to stand against the great evil known as The Hand. So what do I think of these two? Let's dive in and see what we can speculate!

T.I.M.E. Stories Review

If you guys haven't read my Game Crazy blog then let me talk a bit about my recent obsession with board games. Growing up, I was never a board gamer. None of my friends played them and none of them owned any. Of course we had Monopoly but I loathe Monopoly utterly and completely. Anyway, I've been playing "Mysterium" and "Pandemic" but "T.I.M.E Stories" is an incredibly unique game that I just have to discuss in this blog post. Here we go!

Disappointment in Modern Anime

It surprised me that I've never written an article about this. Whenever I'm confronted with the question of "What animes are you watching?" and such I always have the same reply, "Me and anime broke up. She said somethings, I said somethings and we decided we were better off seeing other people. We got back together around Death Note, and that was great but we knew it was only temporary.". I say that a lot but I never elaborated on that and in this article I'm going to talk about my issues with anime as it stands now and what is exactly up with my old flame.

A "Grimm" Solution

Okay, now that the dust has settled around "Grimm", I can write this article. I've made case, after case, after case about the glaring issues with "Grimm" and even now I can still see some considerable issues but I won't address those issues so much. Rather than just being some guy complaining about a show online, I figured how about I show you guys how I could have done "Grimm" better! Before I continue I'd like to say that minus a few missteps in my opinion, I really did enjoy the finale of "Grimm" and I didn't think I was going to. But I digress, let's do the previous seasons of "Grimm" better and see what we can do.

The Last Of Us Part II: The Story That Could Be

So incase you live under a rock or could careless about the latest video game news, Naughty Dog's 2013 MASSIVE hit game "The Last Of Us" is getting a sequel. This is news to me as I thought I wasn't going to happen and this is news to everyone else since they were waiting for it. However, while I'm excited for the sequel in a small dose (after all I refuse to purchase a PS4 for one game) my apprehension in regards to "The Last Of Us part II" is the return of Joel & Ellie as main characters. Why? Here's why.

What's Up With Gail Simone ?

Comic Books have been dying a slow death for a LONG time now, ever since The New 52 and the insanity of turning Beast Boy red (they've turned him Green again but still...). But now Comic Books are just becoming another platform infested with the eyeball rolling worldview of Modern Day Feminism. If it's not She-Thor (whom I've dubbed Thorina) punching Absorbing-Man in the face (not for robbery but for using "Feminism as a four letter word", actual quote), to Odin's Father offering "Red Pill MRA Menninist casual racism Unsolicited opinions on Israel" (again direct quote) and Wonder Woman at long last FINALLY coming out as bisexual after YEARS of speculation, we finally get these gems from Gail Simone once again showcasing what's wrong with comic books these days and entertainment as a whole.

What's Going On?

This is going to be a strange article (very apt, considering the name of the blog) but I digress. I've been feeling a tiring out of sorts. Entertainment has hit an INCREDIBLE high! We got comic book movies coming out of every orifice, we got "Star Wars" movies coming out every year, we got Netflix shows blowing up like crazy: "Stranger Things", "Iron Fist", "The Defenders", "House Of Cards" and we got brand new video games breaking out. We're truly living in an era where entertainment is ruling the roost, so what's going on?

Did 2K Sell Us The Same Game ?

I'm a HUGE wrestling gamer. I loved wrestling games ever since the days of "WWF: Warzone" (so you know I got cred). The main reason why was because of Create A Wrestler Mode. A function of the game where you get to create your own wrestler with their own moves, entrances and so on. Then "WWF: Attitude" upped the ante in allowing you to create an arena and create a PPV and introduced a Career Mode. Now I was a Nintendo64 for guy so unfortunately I never got to play any of the SMACKDOWN series for Playstation that I hear were actually REALLY good, but when I gotta Playstation 2 "SMACKDOWN!: Shut Your Mouth" & "SMACKDOWN: Here Comes The Pain" were my go to games and I also did partake of the awesomeness that was "WrestleMania 2000" & "WWF: No Mercy". Then the "SMACKDOWN vs. Raw" series came out and more creative ability came with it. I gotta PS3 VERY late in the game so my last wrestling game purchase was "WWE2K14" and at long last I got what I've finally been missing in wrestling games all my life, the ability to add custom music. With, the ability to create a story, a title, an arena, a whole show and 100 create a wrestler slots I had finally gotten everything I had ever wanted in a wrestling game...but alas, my victory was a hollow one, here's why after the break;
