Anime RE-Claimed: The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya

Man...I'm disappointed. For starters, I kinda have a thing for Haruhi Suzumiya, she's graced by banner for awhile and she's just easy on the eyes but MAN is she an annoying character. In reality, the only selling point of this series is Kyon and even then it's not enough. Let's dive into "The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya".

For starters Haruhi Suzumiya herself is an annoying character. From pictures of her, I was expecting an extremely outgoing, energetic girl who was friendly but insanely eccentric. Instead, Haruhi Suzumiya is a stand-offish, energetic and eccentric jerk who's only interested in anyone if they're Alien, Espers or Time Travelers and loathes normal people, this bugs me greatly and really takes the wind out of my sails because I really liked her. That being said, the series isn't without it's good points. First of all Kyon is a GREAT character through and through. He's has just the right amount of "F*ck it." in his system to go along with whatever Haruhi is doing and his narration is spot on. Sadly, his smooth and hilarious narration isn't enough to continue watching this series. I got nothing else to say about this except for just how disappointed I am. This one was a swing and a miss. Unlike "One Punch Man" & "High School Of The Dead" this didn't grab me by the ball and make me want to watch it, this made me roll my eyes and go "No, thank you.".

  1. Stick to it, and you will fall in love with Haruhi Suzumiya. A girl who is in search of aliens, travelers, and espers, unknowingly enlists an alien, an esper, and a time traveler to her school club. A story that unfolds with various plot twists and turns, becomes more interesting with Haruhi Suzumiya’s relationship with Kyon, the only human in her group. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Her tsundere nature comes out evidently in the way she treats him. From coldness to caring for him when he is in a coma at a point in the story, Haruhi is more than what we expect. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
