What If...?: DC Extended Universe Pt. 2

We're back at it! Now that we've gone through Part One of The DC Extended Universe and The Justice League, we're gonna jump into Part Two! So if you haven't read those, you can, or if not, Hey, welcome! Anyways, so by now, you should know that we're building towards Darkseid. You should know by now (if you read Part One & The Justice League) that The Justice League decided to go their separate ways after Wonder Woman killed Maxwell Lord. As I mentioned previously, one of the things that confused me about the Marvel movies is how come none of the Avengers aided each other in their solo movies? Well with this, I at least give an answer, they're not a team anymore, and because they're not a team all of the conflict for these characters will essentially take place primarily in their corner of the world and these stories will be much more personal and backstory driven. So let's dive in and see if I can do this better than Warner Bros./DC. So here's the line up for The DC Extended Universe

THE BATMAN
For a solo Batman film, seeing as how Batman broke away from The Justice League it's time to do a personal story for Batman and the villain I choose would be Riddler. The Riddler would essentially be a Jigsaw-type serial killer setting up death traps in people's houses forcing them to solve puzzles, riddles, and other things in order to escape or keep information from getting out. The Riddler would eventually set his sights on Bruce Wayne by setting him up for a crime he didn't commit in order to destroy Wayne's reputation, but this is a side quest, his real quest is trying to deduce the identity of Batman and he suspects it's Bruce Wayne. So The Riddler forces Batman to remain permanently in the Bruce Wayne persona due to the increased media attention. The idea behind it being why is it that Batman is more active when Bruce Wayne is absent?

THE FLASH II
The villain for this movie will be Captain Cold. This Captain Cold however will not be the Leonard Snart with a code, he'll be back to his original and brutal self. Instead of the backstory given to him, we're gonna change things up just a bit to make Leonard kinda like Will Hunting, except Leonard is an albino, and he does have his criminal past but for small and petty crimes, mostly theft (although this Leonard did indeed kill his father). Basically, a team at a Cryo Lab were trying to reach absolute Zero, Leonard (as a janitor) comes along and completes the equation. Rather than being grateful, they steal the idea and get Leonard ousted from the job, and putting him at odds with his parole board (holding a job is part of parole). Leonard then goes on a quest for revenge using his genius he creates his freeze gun.

AQUAMAN II
As I stated before the main villain of this film will be Ocean Master a.k.a Orum. In this film Aquaman has settled into his position as King Of Atlantis with Tula (a little older and wiser) serving as his 2nd hand. There will be a brief moment where Aquaman is greeted by an emissary of Ares who offers Aquaman a truce in exchange for not interfering in the taking over of Themyscira, Aquaman declines (this is a set up for The Wonder Woman sequel, but it will be a brief moment and will serve to showcase Aquaman in a kingly position, so it won't be a detracting or shoehorned moment in the movie). Tula asks Aquaman if he ever misses the surface world and wonders what life is like above. Aquaman recounts the events of The Justice League movie and tells Tula that the surface world is full of paranoia and fear, Tula tells Aquaman that despite this half of himself is human and he doesn't know that side of him. This leads Aquaman to wonder about his human family.

Aquaman decides to go on a walkabout to discover who he is in terms of being both Atlantean and Human and wonders if those two sides of himself can be reconciled, these lead to flashbacks of his brother Orum and his attempt to murder Aquaman for being half-human and yet first in line for the throne. Aquaman sets out to find his brother and potentially reconcile with him. Aquaman leaves a council of advisors in charge and heads out. His journey eventually leads him to the surface where he finds his brother going by the name Orum Marius. Orum welcomes his brother and showcases his amassed wealth and resources, all while hiding from his crew and men that he's actually Atlantean. Aquaman is impressed with his brother's life and urges him to return to Atlantis to have his rightful place. Orum rebuffs his brother and tells him that he fully intends to reclaim his rightful place.

Aquaman discovers Orum's plan to flood the world using massive seismic generators. Orum cites The O.M.A.C Project and The Kryptonian Invasion as his reasoning, citing that humans have all but lost their claim and Orum will rule the world by ridding it of humans. Aquaman tells him that he won't allow Orum to do such a horrible thing citing himself as being half-human, Orum then tells Aquaman he can die with the rest of humanity. Of course, Aquaman defeats his brother.

WONDER WOMAN II
The main villain for this movie will be Ares. Now before we get into the movie proper I have a few changes to make that will probably tick some people off but I'm going to explain my reasoning. The changes are Donna Troy & Cassandra Sandsmark will be Amazons on Themyscira. While I understand that Donna is already an Amazonian (so no big change there) Cassandra isn't one, not exactly. Either way, the reason I have them there is because it gives Wonder Woman friends she can talk to and be vulnerable with and vice versa. Cassandra will be a teenager while Donna is closer in age to Wonder Woman but not as prepared. Anyways, on with the treatment.

Wonder Woman returns to Themyscira lamenting how the world of men hasn't changed and there is still war and hatred among them. Queen Hippolyta informs Diana that there are other issues to address. Ares has arrives and tells Hippolyta of her failure in helping save the world and chastises her for isolating herself, he uses the same citations as Orum does. Diana won't hear any of this as she has done her part to save humanity but Ares declares it isn't enough and with Zeus' permission he has been tasked with protecting the world. Being a sporting person, Ares proposes that a tournament will be held between The Amazonians and his men The Spartans, Hippolyta agrees.

Wonder Woman gathers together the best of The Amazonians and Ares gathers his men, however, Ares speaks to Athena and he airs his concerns about Wonder Woman as a genuine threat to his take over, Athena encourages Ares to go to places where great horrors were committed and make a creature from clay similar to Wonder Woman. Ares orders his men to go to Auschwitz and Rwanada and other places where genocides occurred and through magic and his godlike power, Ares creates the creature known as Genocide. Wonder Woman trains and it's time for the tournament. The Amazonians best most of Ares's men. While preparing for her bout, a young Amazonian named Donna overhears Athena talking to someone else about their plans to use Ares' men as soldiers for the coming war.

Donna goes to Hippolyta and tells her of Athena's misconduct, shocked and appalled, Hippolyta goes to Athena and questions her truce with Ares. Athena tells Hippolyta that the Amazonians are weak. Hippolyta recognizes that this person is not Athena and attacks her, Athena dodges out of the way and then attacks Hippolyta and Donna, incapacitating them both. Back at the games, Wonder Woman has claimed victory over most of Ares' men, Ares finally decides to unleash Genocide on her. Genocide mops the floor with Wonder Woman EASILY! Wonder Woman is getting wrecked beyond belief, she's getting beaten to a bloody pulp much to the delight of Ares. Cassandra starts to wonder where Hippolyta and Donna are and finds them subdued. She awakens Hippolyta and she tells Cassandra that they and Ares have been deceived and they need to stop the games IMMEDIATELY.

Wonder Woman is still getting wrecked by Genocide but Hippolyta arrives and finds Athena at Ares' side. Hippolyta urges Ares to end the game but Ares only believes she's doing so to save Wonder Woman. Athena blasts Hippolyta and Ares start to question what's happening claiming that Athena would never resort to violence to solve a conflict. Ares attacks Athena to find a hideous woman instead, this woman is of course Granny Goodness. Ares demands to know who she is but Granny mocks Ares as being false gods and then orders Genocide to kill them all. Before Ares can strike Granny Goodness, she vanishes through a Boom Tube. A pissed-off Ares urges Genocide to stop but she doesn't listen and manages to tear through Ares' men and several Amazonians, even managing to resist Ares himself. Hippolyta decides that they're going to have to face Genocide together. Ares, Wonder Woman, Hippolyta, Donna & Cassandra all team up to take Genocide down. When the dust settles Ares apologizes to Hippolyta and vows to find out what happened to Athena and who the impostor was.

Here's the thing with this film, it creates a personal story for Wonder Woman. Yes, I'm fully aware that Cassandra Sandsmark isn't an Amazon but at the same time, does it really matter? It gives Wonder Woman friends and people to talk to and showcases Wonder Woman's upbringing. Also, it gets the character back to her Greek roots of having Greco-Roman style fighting and tournaments. This also establishes Ares as a threat but not a villain, Ares was only manipulated by Granny Goodness and once that ruse is discovered, let just say that Ares hates being made a fool of more than he hates losing. Genocide is in this movie to give Wonder Woman something to fight who can match her toe to toe and physically demolish her. Also, as a side note, it gives Granny Goodness a template for the furies.

GREEN LANTERN
Naturally, the first villain will be Sinestro, the reason Hal Jordan isn't present on Earth for Brainiac is that he's training as a Lantern and taking down Sinestro as a dictator of his own planet. Hal Jordan will return in Justice League 3 as a fully realized Green Lantern but for now, we need to keep him and the Corp. as far from Earth as possible, after all, all The Lanterns can pretty much solve 90% of the things going on on Earth and that would make The Justice League redundant. That and we need a military guy who's used to working as a unit and Hal Jordan is that guy.

JUSTICE LEAGUE II
I'll be doing a separate write-up on this but the main villain for this film will be Brainiac. Yes, I did a lot of setting up for Darkseid's arrival with the appearance of Granny Goodness but that's all we're going to get for now. I wanna set up The New Gods very carefully.
